It also, in a weird way helped me relate to my mother who was an elite athlete who broke her back in her prime and ended up never being able to walk again. But you are right. The ending sucked. As do all endings when the characters you love die horribly. I wish you could pre-watch and review all films for me. Then travesties like “wanted” would never occur.
